Summer School

We've been spending summer doing school work. It is partly to get Haylie caught up for the two months of kindergarten she missed and also to prepare her for first grade. We're homeschooling her next year so this also helps us set a routine. Some days are better than others but we are all enjoying it. Haylie is so bright. She picks up on things fast. I think that it frustrates her if she doesn't get something right away. It is a lot of fun with Freemen at preschool age. I'm finding there are some things he really excels at. Today he did an addition worksheet and told me it was easy. He still has at least another year before kindergarten.


Apples are the best snack for school time.


We spent one day taking about Dinosaurs. We read books, watched a movie, and even ate dinosaurs (chicken nuggets) for lunch. Our favorite thing was making the kid's pictures into their own dinosaurs and writing a story about them. They wanted to color everything red so their pictures look a little creepy but they love them.

We've been trying to encourage Haylie to write more. This is a book that she made by herself. It made us laugh so hard. It really shows her state of mind and how she is in love with "love stories".

Once there was a girl and she went to school.


She saw a boy. He saw her and he liked her.


And she saw him and she went over and said can you play with me?


And he said yes. I will play with you. So he did.


So they went to go play and they had fun.


Then it was time to go home so they said goodbye.


And when they got home they told their moms that they had a new friend. The end.
