Our Garden

We dug up a section of our yard here and planted a little garden. We got started very late (1st of June) but we by-passed seeds and just bought plants. We probably spent more on the garden than it'll produce but there is something fulfilling about getting your hands dirty.

The first big flowers have appeared on my zucchini plant. As you can see, we have VERY sandy soil here. When it rains all the plant leave have a thin layer of sand on them.

I love using my fresh basil. I think I have too much so I need to learn how to dry and store it.

We had a whole bunch of tomatoes but there was a problem with the soil and watering so they rotted. These two are the only survivors. I'm anxious to see some red!

It is such a wonderful feeling to grow your own veggies and herbs! With the basil, you need to make lots of pesto! It's the best. Things look like they are going well. We miss you. Jaden hopes you have a girl and she is just like Haley!
